Born and raised in Peruíbe, São Paulo, Brazil, Matheus Cunha discovered his passion for cooking at 21 and pursued a degree in Culinary Arts, earned in 2019, followed by a postgraduate degree in Food & Beverage Administration. He began his career in hotels and independent restaurants before relocating to São Paulo, where he immersed himself in the city's acclaimed dining scene, refining his craft at Bib Gourmand and Michelin-starred restaurants, most notably one-Michelin-starred Maní under the mentorship of Chefs Helena Rizzo and Willem Vandeven.

Known for his methodical approach and strong organizational skills, Cunha spent the past five years in leadership positions, streamlining kitchen operations and elevating service standards. His culinary style is rooted in bold, expressive flavors executed through modern technique.

IN 2025, CUNHA RELOCATED TO THE UNITED STATES TO JOIN MICHELIN-STARRED LE JARDINIER MIAMI, where he now serves as Sous Chef, committed to exceptional execution and ingredient-driven cuisine.
